German Shepherd rescued from major Philadelphia highway by dog lover finds safe home in special rescue for special doggos where she began to learn to trust again, rescuer says: ‘The handlers said she’d be adopted quickly since she’s such a good girl!’

It was this doggo's luckiest day ever.

One thing that we do not talk enough about when covering these kinds of doggo rescue stories is how much luck is involved. Just think what it feels like to drive down a highway at high speed and to spot something that looks like a dog. Just being able to stop safety in time to help the doggo requires a decent amount of luck and that is before you even take your first steps towards the doggo to see what condition it is in. From there you need a whole heap of luck that the poor pupper cooperates with you and comes along nicely. And from that point you need yet more luck to find an appropriate home for the sweet soul you've just saved, and that is one of the toughest parts of the whole ordeal.

So when we heard of a doggo who's story started with little to no luck and with a whole heap of effort and love would end up being the luckiest dumped doggo that had ever been, we knew we had to share it with all of you.

Wow, this one tough start to a rescue story. A highway is not a fun place to be where you are a doggo or a hooman. With cars zipping past at many tens of miles an hour it is a stressful situation for all involved, and that is before taking the fear reactiveness into account. But it seems that this dog lover is the kind of person who leaves no doggo behind. Something that will turn out to be a crucial step in their relationship developing and ultimately the happy ending they managed to get to.

The way that the rescue system is set up is so cruel to those doggos who need just a little extra help. Sure, we can all agree that there are far too many doggos in need in this world and not enough resources to help them all as we would like. But for a person who put their safety at risk to save a doggo to have little to no options to reasonably help this pupper is simply sad. For all the love we have for doggos we ought to be doing more to make their lives better. Thankfully there is very little that this pupper pawrent was not willing to do to help this doggo in need.
